Become a Clinical Medical Assistant in the growing and demanding area of healthcare! This comprehensive, hands-on program will prepare you to take the state or national CMA examination, test prep included. Students will learn to perform clinical procedures including vital signs, preparing and administering injections, drawing blood, collecting specimens, taking electrocardiograms, recording and charting the patient history, learn the practical applications of the Electronic Medical Record, preparing patients for x-rays and examinations, applying bandages and dressings, learning medical terminology, learning medical terminology, learning the basics of medical administration, and career development

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Admissions
- Students must have earned a high school diploma or GED.
- Students must attend orientation and pass an assessment.
- Students must have basic computer and keyboard skills and regular access to a computer and the internet to work within the online learning platform.
- As a prerequisite for Clinical Medical Assistant, students must complete and pass “Core Skills for the Healthcare Professional.”
- A list of required vaccinations will be provided during orientation.
- The student is responsible for the cost of textbooks, uniforms, and supplies. This information is provided at registration.
