Designed for students interested in becoming carpenters or contractors, this course covers the process of remodeling a home. Hands-on instruction in our dedicated facility provides an opportunity for students to learn the basic carpentry skills needed for various refurbishing projects, such as basement or attic conversions or renovation of existing areas. Students also learn skills in scheduling, materials estimation, planning, and demolition. The curriculum is based on the National Center for Construction Education and Research. This program offers resume and interview preparation and support in job searching.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
