Pipefitters play a major role in the construction and maintenance of plant site systems. Pipefitters fabricate, install and repair piping or tubing systems that convey liquid, gas and occasionally solid materials. Pipefitters are employed in the petroleum, chemical and power industries, as well as the food and beverage industry. Brazosport College emphasizes hands-on classroom training and provides individual attention. Plus, you can receive college credit for on-the-job work experience through our co-op courses. Pipefitters typically work with various hand and power tools, as well as computers. They also install automatic controls used to regulate the flow in pipe systems.
