Obtaining a life insurance license grants you the power to sell and solicit life insurance policies and annuity contracts. Clients may range from individuals to employer groups. Agents evaluate a client’s insurance needs and information to recommend a suitable insurance policy and an adequate amount of coverage while keeping the client’s best interest in mind at all times. After earning your license, most states require additional certification courses to sell annuity products. Obtaining a health insurance license grants you the power to sell, solicit, and enroll clients into various health insurance policies. Clients range from individuals to employer groups, and health insurance policies can include medical expenses, dental, disability income, accidental death and dismemberment, long-term care, and Medicare Supplement policies. Policies may be issued through private carriers or through the insurance marketplace. After earning your license, all states require additional certification courses to sell annuity and long-term care products.
