ABC - South Texas offers state and federally-approved apprenticeship programs in four key trades: carpentry, sheet metal, electrical, and plumbing. These programs, certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, provide apprentices with paid, on-the-job training at virtually no personal cost. Eligible veterans can benefit from the Post-9/11 GI Bill, receiving a tax-free stipend while building their skills. Additionally, participants can earn College Life Credit hours and network with some of the most talented construction professionals in South Texas.

Carpenters
Construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood and comparable materials, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; and wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors. May also install cabinets, siding, drywall, and batt or roll insulation. Includes brattice builders who build doors or brattices (ventilation walls or partitions) in underground passageways.
