Gas Pipefitter Apprentice Our Department of Labor-certified Gas Pipefitter Apprenticeship is a four-year paid training program (a combination of classroom and on-the-job training) that prepares you for a career as a Journey-level Gas Pipefitter! Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will be taught and prepared to safely perform construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of utility gas service lines and mains. As this position is part of a formal Gas Pipefitter Apprenticeship, the pay rate begins at $30.74 and will progress throughout the duration of the apprenticeship based on the pay schedule below (subject to change): Step 1

During the apprenticeship, you will become an expert in the following: Assisting in installing gas mains and service lines, repairs, and maintenance Using hand-operated electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools to assist with the construction and maintenance projects Connecting and inspecting gas mains and service lines Operating gas construction excavation equipment Responding to emergencies and assisting with gas mains and service line repairs Who You Are Experience in a skilled trade or skilled labor capacity is valued
