Position Overview:
Under provider supervision, the Medical Assistant (MA) will perform a variety of administrative, medical and clinical support functions within a post-acute practice to support the entire practice and our providers. The MA will provide essential in-person support to the triage nursing team, providers, and administrative team, ensuring the smooth delivery of coordinated care to residents in our facilities. This is an in-office position in Greenwood Village with some occasional travel to assist providers on-site at facilities throughout Colorado.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Documentation & Preparation Obtain patient medical histories, chart preparation, medication reconciliation, patient allergens, hospital encounters, radiology reports, and relevant lab work for provider review. Prepare patient charts, assist with documentation for provider visits to streamline care delivery. Scribe duties include documenting all aspects of the patient's visit as directed by the doctor. Communication & Coordination Answer incoming calls, transcribe voicemails, and coordinate appropriate responses from providers and nursing staff. Act as a central communication point between providers, facility staff, patients, and their families to support quality coordinated care. Coordinate receipt and review of patient educational materials after provider visits, if needed. Manage practice eFax by routing documents to the correct designee, uploading files to patient charts, and coordinating the return of signed documents and orders. Administrative Support for Providers & Nursing Staff Assist providers and nursing teams with form completion, including physician orders, referrals, and scheduling follow-up care as directed. Utilize Google Sheets in contacts management and reporting functions. Scheduling & Workflow Management Review scheduling and provider instructions for upcoming diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments for residents. Schedule patients for visits and coordinate directly with providers to ensure all necessary preparations are in place. Prior Authorizations Initiate and process prior authorizations as required for patient treatment plans. Logistics Support Assist with occasional deliveries to facilities, including medical supplies or documents, to support providers and staff. Complete various tasks and projects as assigned by administrators to support the ongoing development and efficiency of the practice.

Certification:
Completed Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, Medical Assistant Diploma. Prior Experience in the Primary Care setting preferred. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms. Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets Excellent communication and organizational skills. Excellent multi-tasking skills and flexibility. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, specialists, home health agencies, and family members. Demonstrate ability in critical thinking. Must have a clean driving record or comfortable taking a ride-share service (i.e. Uber, Lyft etc.) Medical Scribe experience a plus
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
