$36.5K - $47.1K a year 11 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Tuition reimbursement 401(k) matching Qualifications Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Management Mid-level Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED SharePoint 1 year Full Job Description The Deposit Operations Specialist specializes in various deposit operations functions including IRA processing, deceased account processing, ATM management, annual escheatment, certificate management, etc. and will serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for complex member service issues.
Major Responsibilities:
Acts as primary processors for all deceased account functions including debt protection claims, IRA beneficiary claims, spreadsheet management, account review/maintenance, document review, correspondence with surviving family or executors/trustees, and responsible for facilitating account closure and/or member removal. Escalates complex deceased accounts to the Deposit Operations Supervisor for compliance/legal review. Provides assistance with IRA account management and is the primary processor for IRA related tasks including, but not limited to, posting incoming contribution checks, RMD processing, validating IRA forms, IRA transfer and rollover requests, and tax reporting. Monitors deposit operations request Teams channels and provides clear, timely, and professional responses to departments utilizing knowledge across all deposit operations functions. Provides assistance as needed for the processing of ATM malfunctions, deposit verifications, and maintenance requests. Assists in ATM balancing to ensure any outages are rectified and/or documented/ escalated. Monitors the fulfillment of service requests relating to cash management and ATM maintenance. Notifies management of any situations or trends implicating a negative impact to the Credit Union. Assists with certificate requests relating to adjustments i.e., maturity date, term, dividend rate corrections, etc. Processes requests and performs maintenance on deposit accounts and supports operations management in the implementation and development of the Credit Union's strategic initiatives. Provides assistance to the Deposit Operations Supervisor during annual escheatment processing. Reviews and acts upon inactive/dormant account reports to ensure member account status is reflecting accurately. Acts as a back up to the Deposit Operations Clerk regarding all mailing functions for the Operations Department. This includes maintaining the incoming mail log, mailing all member notices and correspondence related to deposit operations and payment operations functions. Performs other miscellaneous tasks related to the Operations Department including, but not limited to, processing employee reimbursements, posting stale dated checks, posting check requests from other internal departments, and processing general ledger transfer requests from Accounting or other internal departments. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements Experience:
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks and can identify critical issues that require escalation. Working knowledge of IRAs, deceased account processing, certificates, deposit accounts, and ATM management. Working knowledge of inactive/dormant account processing, escheatment procedure and law, and functions related to tax reporting preferred. Possess interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with members and employees in person, by telephone, and by electronic sources. Ability to operate a PC and related hardware and software with speed and accuracy. Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) is highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
Physical qualifications require being able to sit at a computer and other office related equipment for extended periods of time and to be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
