Must have a Harrisburg city license to qualify for this position. You will need to provide your own hand tools, UPMC will provide power tools and specialty tools. Schedule is Mon.-Fri. 7am-3:30pm On-call rotation once training period is completed, manager will discuss further during interview. Responsibilities:

Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call. Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment. Install new wiring and electrical machinery. Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment. Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery. Perform all work following infection control procedures. Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis. Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required. Military experience considered. 2 years' experience as an Electrician working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
