Responsibilities:
As a Health Information Management (HIM) Outpatient Coder for Community Health Partners, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for professional outpatient treatments and services to ensure proper billing and insurance claims. Working with all levels of the organization capturing charges for primary and specialty professional service departments, you will adhere to official coding guidelines, all while promoting accuracy and completeness.Qualifications:
Education & Experience High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Completion of courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology required 1 year of Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle, healthcare industry or healthcare setting related experience required Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding for professional billing required Licenses and Certifications One of the following is required: CCA- Certified Coding Associate COC
- Certified Outpatient Coder CPC
- Certified Professional Coder CCS
- Certified Coding Specialist RHIT
