San Antonio, TX Reports to: Technical Support Manager Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Technical Support Specialist II. The Technical Support Specialist II provides support to all Operation Homefront staff by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workstations and LAN performance. The Technical Support Specialist II is responsible for managing the organization's SPAM and mobile devices; on/off boarding for new and terminated users.
Qualifications:
Must live in San Antonio, TX. High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates or higher-level degree preferred. Must have 2-4 years IT help desk experience. Experience with mobile device management (Android and iOS) preferred. Experience with Printer/Multifunction setup and maintenance, VoIP and troubleshooting, FTP, and active directory systems administration preferred. Microsoft related technical, Network and Security, and A+ certifications preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel 5% of the time. Valid driver's license. Acceptable MVR (annual). Criminal background check. Passion for Operation Homefront's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Acts as the first line of support to all technical assistance inquires. Assists customers by identifying problems; researching answers and performing root-cause analysis; guiding the client through corrective action. Assists with monitoring, identifying, and escalating urgent technical problems as appropriate. Assists with software and hardware installations and upgrades, maintains user management permissions and on/off boarding Identifies optimization opportunities in performance, processes, and procedures, recommending changes. Responsible for maintaining asset inventory and other IT documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Details:
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events to include overnight travel. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
