This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery, such as loaders, dozers, and excavators. The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy equipment, knowledge of safe operation procedures, understands heavy equipment practices, and is skilled in performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment to efficiently and safely load, unload, and transport materials. Comply with OSHA and E-385-1 safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment. Inspect equipment and conduct routine maintenance on machinery, including checking oil, water, and tires. Use machinery to build, maintain, and repair structures. Clear and grade land for construction projects Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality and output. Identify and report any deviations from quality standards. Manage stockpiles and monitor material levels Maintain effective communication with other team members to ensure seamless operation. Routinely climbs ladders; lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing 50 lbs. Report malfunctioning equipment Follow and enforce safety procedures Assist with construction site operations and perform other tasks as needed. "Fit for Duty"
Requirements:
Medical Fitness:
Applicants to whom the Company makes an offer must pass a "Fitness for Duty" examination. The FFD examination may include a physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and respiratory function testing. •
Essential Functions:
Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, which include, but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and stooping. • Failure to pass the "Fitness for Duty" examination and /or to demonstrate the ability to safely perform essential functions, may result in the Company withdrawing an offer of employment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or
GED Certifications:
HAZWOPER
40-hour / 8-hour refresher Vocational training through trade school or apprenticeship program At least one year of experience operating heavy equipment. Maintenance and repair a plus. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance. Commitment to safety.
Heavy Lifting:
