    Generator Mechanic
  • Job Description
  • The Generator Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing generator problems, working with electrical control panels, and handling three-phase electrical voltage and circuit breakers. This role requires traveling from job site to job site to repair generators and conducting preventative maintenance on all generators.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Troubleshoot and repair generator problems. + Troubleshoot electrical control panels. + Work with three-phase electrical voltage and circuit breakers. + Travel to various job sites for generator repairs. + Conduct preventative maintenance on all generators. + Understand power generation systems and components.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance. + Experience with diesel-powered standby electrical generation equipment. + Knowledge of installation, diagnostics, repair, and service of generators. + Mechanical and facilities maintenance skills. + Ability to inspect and ensure proper generator functionality.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + High School Diploma required.
+ Two or more years of hands-on electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting experience. + Clean driving record. + Training in Generation Technology or Power Production and Maintenance preferred. + Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and on-call hours as needed. + Professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and strong customer service focus. + Excellent communication skills. + Current, valid state driver's license with DOT medical card required. + Possession of industrial tools, including hand tools, air tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters. + Ability to operate megohmmeters and micro-ohmmeters safely. + Understanding of isochronous governing and voltage regulation. + Capability to calculate KW and amperage for load banking. + Experience in cable layout for load banking. + Knowledge of advanced switchgear requirements, including phase rotation/sequencing and protective relay operation. + Proficiency in TCP/IP and
MODBUS RS-485
Communications. + Experience with ATS operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
