JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent Possess a valid Michigan Chauffeur's license with B, P, S and air brakes
  • (pass State Skill test and State written test) Possess clean driving record Pass physical including drug test Meet all State requirements for Bus Driver Certification Capable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60 lbs. Ability to work well with children and adults Calm and patient demeanor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: Bus drivers shall provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school for students. Bus drivers will also comply with all traffic regulations as outlined by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the State of Michigan.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive a school bus safely and professionally Comply with all traffic ordinances Maintain student discipline on bus Comply with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct as outlined and approved by district Board of Education Use established routes and designated bus stops Operate on approved time schedule Perform all bus housekeeping duties, inside and outside Complete daily maintenance sheet and files with Director of Transportation Report (in writing) any maintenance defects immediately to Director of Transportation or Bus Garage Mechanic Discharge students only at authorized stops Transport authorized students only Participate in on-site training Show proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus
