Job Summary The Dental Assistant III will provide four-handed, chairside dentistry while ensuring high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist with examinations and procedures. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to infection control protocols, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist in four-handed, chairside dentistry and record oral examinations. Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe and organized workspace. Pour dental models and fabricate custom trays as needed. Perform basic radiology procedures in accordance with safety guidelines. Follow proper infection control protocols to ensure patient and staff safety. Provide clear and thorough post-operative instructions to patients. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficiency and smooth operation of the clinic. This position is based in the Faculty Practice Clinic at the Dental Science Building. The successful candidate may also provide backup coverage for Dental Assistants at various levels across multiple dental clinics and locations as needed. Skills / Knowledge
/ Abilities Bi-lingual, excellent communication and customer service skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize, radio-graphic imaging, Microsoft Office, CRCST or CBSPD certification. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Experience with Dental Procedures, instruments, materials, and processes; and experience with digital radio-graphic imaging. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish. CRCST or CBSPD certification and EDDA (Expanded Duties Dental Assisting) Certification preferred.
