Answers the Office of Human Resources main telephone line assisting callers and transferring calls accordingly.- Back up for the Edison door security system.
- Maintains professional growth records for teachers.
- Track, upload and log licensed and non-licensed employee evaluations.
- Processes criminal background checks for student teachers, interns and others as needed.
- Receive, sort, HR mail and disperse to the appropriate HR staff.
- Data entry for On-Boarding new employees; i.e. protected data information, key fob information, I-9 verfication of employment
- Assists with taking employee photos and producing the employee id badges
- Processes ID badge and key fob replacement requests
- Processes requests for verification of employment by email or phone verifying employment dates and probability of continued employment.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
- Maintains the current on-line application database and assists interview committees in the employment process.
- Contact person for prospective employees as needed.
- Communicates employment decision to successful and non-successful candidates as needed.
- Prepares employment documents, appropriate checklists and calculates and verifies salary placement.
- Maintains and updates Skyward personnel profiles and data.
- Reviews licensed and non-licensed candidate applications for appropriate licensure, qualifications, experience and determines salary for job offers.
- Calculates and/or verifies salaries of employee job transfers.
- Posts internal and external vacancies for positions as needed.
- Present contract information during new employee orientation.
- Participates in staffing and assignment processes.
- Types letters and memos regarding applicant status, assignments, payroll, etc.
- Assists in updating application forms and forms relating to employment and postings as needed. Initiating, creating and tracking overloads, summer school, and extra duty assignments.
- Creation and Maintenance of calendars for various work groups.
- Creating various Skyward Reports.
- Assisting with the consent agenda for the School Board.
- Lead staffing specialist for the STAR report.
- Work on district contract updates as needed per settlements.
- Provides assistance, answers questions, and resolves issues of employees regarding terms of employment, HR procedures, bargaining unit contracts and District policies.
- Answers questions in writing, in person and via email and telephone from applicants and hiring managers on interview and hiring process.
- Prepares the semi-annual teacher seniority report.
- Calculate severance benefits for and meet with retiring staff as needed.
- Performs other tasks within the levels of responsibility indicated above as assigned by the Human Resources Manager and/or Executive Director of Human Resources.
Qualifications:
Preferred but not required; One year experience in Human Resources, Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or PHR certification. High School Diploma or GED will be considered.- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail essential.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and refocus easily.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong human relations skills to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient skills in Excel and Word preferred.
- Knowledge of Skyward software preferred.
- Working knowledge of Google docs, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Regular, on-time attendance is required
- Strong telephone skills
- Strong human relations skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty and the general public
- Must demonstrate professionalism
