- Position Summary
- Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field.
- Essential Functions of the Job
- + Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems + Effectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics + Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air and water systems + Conduct all repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment "Ready to Rent" status + Performs and document "check in" and "check out" inspections of fleet equipment + Maintain and organize shop and storage areas, ensuring Super Products standard of excellence is met.
- Knowledge, Skills, and, Abilities (KSA's)
- + Possess a solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment preferred + Must demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics + Ability to administer DOT inspections + Possess basic / position-related computer skills + Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task + Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team, as well as work alone effectively + Be self-motivated, shows complete accountability, is timely in all assignments + Must own and supply a basic set of hand tools and storage box.
- Education and Experience
- + High School Diploma or GED + Minimum three (3) years, verifiable experience as a mechanic + Experience with electrical and hydraulic diagnosis or truck mounted vacuum equipment -- required The pay range for this position in California is $28-$34/hour; however base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
