Meet the team:
Join our dynamic R D Engineering Test Team, where innovation meets dedication. As an Engineering Technician 3, you'll play a pivotal role in the test development of our next-generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems. Our team is passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to improve lives, thriving on collaboration and creativity. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and executing various tests, documenting results, and supporting various testing activities. You'll collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate and consistent testing throughout all phases of product development.
Where you come in:
You will support the accurate and consistent execution of test activities across all phases of product development. You will collect and document test results using good documentation practices and assist in failure analysis to support root-cause investigations. You will conduct feasibility testing, developmental testing, characterization testing, material testing, and design verification testing and support all engineering requests from the R D teams. You will operate various test equipment, including vernier scales, microscopes, tensile testing machines, multimeters, oscilloscopes, temperature probes, data acquisition systems, drop testing equipment, mechanical shock and vibration equipment, environmental chambers, hardness testers, and fatigue testing machines. You will support Engineers with fixture or equipment development for product testing. Activities include assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, and processes, as well as completing engineering studies and validations. You will participate in test planning and scheduling activities, including product inventory management, transport to test vendors and disposal of test articles. You will assist in lab management activities such as lab audits and environmental monitoring. You will participate in the development of test procedures, equipment/fixture builders, and any documentation that supports testing.
What makes you successful:
You have an associate degree in mechanical, electronics, or electromechanical fields. You are proficient with Microsoft productivity apps such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. You have the ability to read, understand, and follow documents such as protocols, test procedures, procedure instructions, equipment binders, policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You are proficient in using various electromechanical test equipment and measurement systems. You have excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. You are detail-oriented and organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills. You know when to be creative and innovative in test development and when to follow test instructions and document results in real time. You have a good sense of how equipment works and troubleshooting, which is crucial for this position. Your understanding of the mechanics of the product will be very helpful. You excel at collaborating effectively within a team and with engineers from different teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of test activities. Your familiarity with CGM technology is a plus. Your certifications such as Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Test Technician (CTT), or ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) are advantageous. Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience and High School diploma/certificate or equivalent.
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
