EXPERIENCED FIRE SPRINKLER FITTER INSTALLER JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter is an experienced position. Having a go-getter attitude, good attendance, and the desire to grow is vital to the success of this position. [This position includes both residential (plastic) systems and commercial (steel) systems, which can be alternated as needed.]

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Read blueprints. Have a working knowledge of some or all of the following documents: NFPA 13D, 13R, and 13. Have a professional attitude and appearance. Interface with customers and superintendents. Motivated and a self-starter. Problem solver. Able to work independently. Ability to give and follow directions. Have a working knowledge of steel piping and/or CPVC (both are preferred but not required). Must be able to lift 100 pounds. Prove a minimum of 2-3 years of full-time experience in the trade. A clean driving record is a plus.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Blazemaster, OSHA 10, and CPR/First Aid training must be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in unstandardized situations.

Physical Requirements:

This job requires standing, walking, and sitting; using hands and arms to reach, climb, and balance; stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing; lifting up to 100 lbs; and having a clear, color vision.

Standing:

Remains in standing position to perform various job functions.

Climbing:

ascending and descending ladders and the like.

Raises or lowers tools and piping.

Environment Conditions:

This position may expose you to wet or humid conditions, working near mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, and the risk of electric shock. Noise levels can vary from low to very loud.

Travel Expectations:

This job does not require traveling. However, if a personal vehicle is needed for company use during the workday, a mileage reimbursement expense form must be submitted.
