Fleet Technician 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 4655 North Humboldt Street, Denver, CO 80216 The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of a full-time Fleet Service Technician to join our Operations Team! Who We Are Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s. Outside of the best 16 days in January, the National Western Events Complex hosts 200+ events, including horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, cheerleading competitions, and car shows. The Fleet Operations Team plays a critical role in ensuring all of the Complex's vehicles and equipment are safe and operating properly at all times. What We Do The Fleet Operations Team is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all vehicles and heavy equipment utilized by the Western Stock Show Association, from busses to trucks and skid-steers to forklifts. As the Fleet Service Technician, you will work under the direction of our Fleet Supervisor to complete inspections, repairs, and replacements on the Western Stock Show Association fleet. Assignments may include completing oil changes, cleaning/lubricating equipment, conducting minor repairs, and ordering or purchasing parts. If you are looking for a hands-on position that allows you to work on a variety of vehicles and equipment types, this is the job for you! Incumbents are responsible for ensuring all equipment is safe to operate and that all
WSSA/NWSS
safety policies and OSHA regulations are being followed during such operations. Tasks will regularly require various degrees of lifting, standing, bending, and walking. What You Need To be successful in this position, candidates will need to have prior experience working on vehicles and heavy equipment. Knowledge of diesel engine maintenance and repairs is a plus. As the Fleet Service Technician will need to regularly drive/operate WSSA vehicles and equipment, a valid driver's license with a clean MVR is required. Candidates who have or are interested in obtaining a Class B CDL are strongly encouraged to apply! The Fleet Service Technician must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. Successful crew members are able to understand verbal and written directions, can work independently as well as part of a team, and are safety-minded. Incumbents must be able to communicate fluently in English. As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events. All job offers on contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
