Travel Commercial AV Installation Technician 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars West Chicago, IL 60185 Commercial Audio-Visual Installation Technician (Travel) We are in search of an exceptional installer who can deliver projects on time, on budget, and to highest customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is hardworking, organized, detail oriented, and has strong audio-visual system installation experience. Low-voltage experience is a plus! This role will require national travel and must be local to our West Chicago, IL office. Responsibilities Read and understand blueprints and AV system schematic diagrams. Install, terminate, test, and label a variety of low voltage and AV-specific cable types: CAT5/6, coax cable, speaker wire, line-level audio and microphone wire, etc. Install and properly support a variety of AV components including but not limited to video displays, projectors, projection screens and speakers. Perform start-up and debugging of AV systems. Assemble, install, and terminate AV equipment racks and head-ends. Identify cable paths and relay site survey information to project managers. Effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair any system or component level equipment failures with ability to use and understand various test equipment including a digital multi-meter. Effectively perform "configuration level" programming of various systems. Maintain records by documenting installation. Complete all assigned tasks within the specified schedule. Stay current with all mandatory safety requirements and follow established safety practices. Ensures the proper packing and delivery of equipment to customer site. Manage and assist with local and national installations, as assigned. Qualifications and Skills A strong working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards and working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, communication standards and installation. Industry specific manufacturer certifications and training and/or certifications preferred. Experience with Creston, QSC, and Extron Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications. Self-starter with exceptional work ethic, organization, and attention to detail. Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment Ability to travel as needed, up to 100% of the time Valid driver's license Ability to lift and move up to 100lbs Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum of 3 years of experience leading installation of professional audio- visual systems required.
