MISSION To see the lives of young people impacted by the juvenile justice system transformed through mentoring, educational support, job training, and spiritual guidance.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Bookkeeper will play a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient financial systems of Straight Ahead. This position requires a seasoned professional with non-profit accounting expertise, a commitment to the organization's mission, and a heart for serving others. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for all aspects of accounting system policies and procedures, accounting for financial donations, accounts payable, creating reports, and other day-to-day management of finances and related administrative functions that support the successful execution of the organization's programs and services. The ideal candidate will be faith-driven and operate with the highest level of integrity.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain QuickBooks Online including daily entries, running reports, updates and troubleshooting. Prepare journal entries monthly - allocate charges to appropriate accounts Enter and manage bi-weekly payroll through an outside vendor Reconcile monthly bank statements with QuickBooks. Match credit card statements to receipts, follow up with staff if necessary. Prepare financial reporting for federal and state grants. Prepare Accounts Payable coding and transactions, prepare weekly check runs, and communicate with vendors as necessary to resolve issues. Manage cash flow forecast. Manage Accounts Receivable. Assist in managing the annual financial audit with the outside auditor. Maintain personnel file system. Process annual W2 and 1099's. Assist with managing contracts, vendor relationships, leases and procurement processes, to ensure cost efficiency and alignment with organizational standards.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of three years of practical accounting experience, preferably with a non-profit. Working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks (QB), QB Online, and FASB guidelines Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational skills Experience working with external auditors, internal controls Ability to work independently in a small office A desire to work in a faith-based environment.Job Type:
