Job Description

System Administrator (Evening Shift)Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, COAll candidates must have an active Secret clearance or above.

This position is expected to pay $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually;depending on experience, education, and any certifications that aredirectly related to the position.

Responsibilities:
The role involves monitoring system activity, implementing upgrades,vulnerability management, and providing technical support to users. Theselected candidate will be part of a team of qualified, diverse individualsworking in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will:
  • Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshootvirtual and physical servers/systems.
  • Utilize and follow developer provided documentation to build and configureserver/system hardware and software to baseline specifications.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and restore network, server, and clientsystems as outages occur or as needed on a daily basis.
  • Research technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure systemsoperate efficiently.
  • Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/eventlogs, appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid introubleshooting actions.
  • Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers andstakeholders on status of tasks.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external team members andcustomers as needed.
  • Perform client support administrator duties as applicable.
  • Identify developer-documentation errors and provide to appropriatechannels/personnel for correction.
  • Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem andresolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems.
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluate and installpatches and resolve software conflicts.
  • Perform application loading, system hardening to include STIGimplementation, troubleshooting.
  • Perform evening shift work, typically 1400-2000 hours, but may change tomeet off-hour mission activities.
Basic Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
HS Diploma (or GED) and 6 years of general experience; Associate degreeand 4 years of general experience; bachelor's degree and 2 years ofgeneral exp
  • Must have 4 years of related experiene in business systesms, operatingsystems and servers and/or experience in light programming and troubleshooting
  • Must have administration experience on RHEL 7 and 8 using Command LineInterface.
  • Have experience building, configuring and deploying servers using VMware7.0 (or higher).
  • Have experience using Ansible or ansible Tower automation to update software
  • Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such asSecurity+ CE.
Desired Requirements:
  • Have experience working with
HBSS/ESS.
  • Have experience working with ACAS.
  • Have experience configuring and managing NetApp devices.
  • Have experience building virtual switches and networks through vSphere.
  • Have experience installing, patching, configuring and troubleshootingLinux servers and workstations including associated peripherals.
  • Have experience with DISA tools used in scanning and remediating computersystem vulnerabilities.
  • Have experience resolving hardware & software conflicts, performingserver maintenance and break/fix activities.
  • Have DoD networking experience with classified data networks and stronggrasp of red/black concepts and IA compliance.
