Des Moines, Iowa 50322 | Full-Time | Onsite We are excited to partner with Millennium Therapy , a therapist-owned and managed company providing Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy throughout Iowa, in their search for an Insurance Payments Specialist to join their Corporate Administrative Office in Des Moines, IA . Millennium Therapy is a patient-focused organization built on efficient communication and a close-knit support system across 10 clinics. This position is a great fit for someone who thrives on details, problem-solving, and ensuring payment accuracy across multiple locations.

Position Overview:

The Insurance Payments Specialist will work in Millennium's corporate office, managing insurance payment processing for all 10 clinics. This role differs from traditional billers—it does not involve insurance verification or claim submission. Instead, it requires a strong analytical mindset to identify denial trends, resolve complex payment issues, and ensure timely and accurate application of funds using Clinicent EMR software and the Waystar clearinghouse system. Key Responsibilities Insurance Posting & Accounts Receivable Process insurance payments received at the corporate office across 3 NPI's, 1 EIN Apply payments using Clinicent EMR software and Waystar clearinghouse Investigate and follow up on denied claims Analyze denial trends and identify root causes Conduct insurance research, troubleshooting, and implement best practices Collaborate with billing staff and leadership to resolve issues and streamline processes Post patient payments, reconcile deposits, and process credit card and virtual card transactions Assist with month end financial tasks Administrative Support Process paper checks and cash payments Take patient payments over the phone Provide backup support for phones and mail processing Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams and external contacts Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years of experience in healthcare billing or accounts receivables (AR) preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex payment data Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and relevant EMR systems The position involves a high volume of work and requires managing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions Requires a high level of organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks without supervision

Schedule & Pay:

Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Office setting)

Pay:

$23 - $26/hour (Negotiable, based on experience)
