IT Job Overview:
The IT Specialist will work under the close guidance of the IT Manager in all duties and responsibilities. This person is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of their organization. Our IT Specialist will actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly. Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, desktop workstations and printers Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes. Install computers and network components including termination of network cabling. Perform desktop and helpdesk support, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions. Assist with managing capacity, storage planning, and IT systems performance. Assist with remediation of security vulnerabilities found during regular network scans and intrusion detections. Maintain PBX (Private Branch Exchange) Familiar with purchasing equipment
Skills Required:
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience required. System administration and IT certifications or familiarization with Microsoft Office suite, or other network related fields are a plus. Experience in Windows Server administration (configuration/troubleshooting etc.) is required. Experience in Desktop administration (configuration/troubleshooting etc.) is required. Working knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols is required. Knowledge/experience with scripting and automation tools such as Powershell is a plus. Knowledge of PLC's Knowledge/experience in Cisco or other network hardware/software a plus.
