$ 18.04-26.71 USD UPMC Bradford Medical Group is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to join our team, working the day shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This position supports multiple specialties and primary care services in an outpatient setting. The Lead Phlebotomist is responsible for overseeing specimen collection, processing, and mentoring team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices. In this role, there is the opportunity to: Read and comply with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols. Collect specimens promptly and accurately following established procedures. Ensure positive patient ID policy is followed for accurate specimen labeling. Communicate effectively with clients, patients, and coworkers, remaining professional and courteous. Confirm handwritten orders and obtains necessary billing and diagnostic information from clients. Participate in team activities and special projects, contributing to departmental goals. Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and preparing mail. Delegate phlebotomy priorities and non-urgent tasks to staff as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including waste disposal and supply stocking. Train and mentor new employees, ensuring adherence to procedures and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Required High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years' experience Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously Must interact with other departments Preferred Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience
