Our client was established in 2012 and is a contract supplier to the hydraulic, pneumatic, ball bearing, roller bearing, and automotive industries. All manufacturing practices, equipment, and technology proven for years in production in Germany were transferred to the St. Louis facility.

  • Verifies conformance of work pieces to specifications, using preset gauges, micrometers and dial indicators
  • Document hourly inspections for conforming production of product
  • Presets and changes cutting tools and tool holders to maintain production requirements
  • Adjusts machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
  • Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine and engages feed
  • Observes Lubricants and Coolants to ensure they meet specifications as defined in machine manual
  • Confers with supervisor to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production
  • Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts
  • Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed
  • Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches
  • Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed. and observes each machine to verify quality performance
  • Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order
  • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines and sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed
  • Maintains machines per machine operating and maintenance manuals
  • Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules
  • Achieve highest safety levels in the plant and utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, pins , blocks
  • Operate mills and/or lathes to manufacture and inspect parts to specifications and read and interpret blueprintsRequirements for Machine Operator
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 years experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines
  • Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints
  • Ability to follow proper safety protocols
  • Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates
