Position Description Tilson is seeking Micro-Trench Equipment Crew Leads / Foreman to join our newly established, long-term project in Las Vegas building out Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH). The ideal candidate for this role is enthusiastic, highly concerned with safety and quality, cares about the quality of their work. This position will operate various types of mechanical micro-trenching equipment including Tesmec CleanFast, Tesmec CityFast, Ditch Witch and Vermeer. Tilson's Micro-Trench Equipment Operators will be required to safely operate equipment around live utilities in the underground/telecom utility field. Candidate must have full knowledge of underground fiber install operations and must be a capable and proficient equipment operator in the telecom space. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality oriented, with a strong work ethic and a positive, CAN-DO attitude.

Responsibilities:

Motivate individuals and Team to create a positive and highly productive work environment Operational knowledge a variety of the newest micro-trench machines, including Tesmec, Vermeer and Ditch Witch. City and Clean Fast Tesmec models experience preferred Trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops Perform restoration back to existing conditions At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications construction, familiarity with micro-trench machines, ability to use cable placement equipment and tools, ability to identify and troubleshoot problems Must be able to safely coordinate micro-trench equipment in and around congested neighborhoods where adults and children are present Ensure locates are correct and all underground utilities are identified and located before trenching or digging Safely and efficiently coordinate Tilson equipment involved in underground construction work Constantly communicate with crew members Ensure potholes are dug and utilities are daylighted prior to crossing utilities Maintain accuracy in all reporting functions Assist with safety events and is constantly on the lookout for changing conditions Ensure equipment is in proper working order and that all systems are working correctly Performing basic upkeep and maintenance of the equipment and communicate any equipment malfunctions or repair needs with their supervisor Communicating with fellow team members using hand or audio signals, to ensure the safe operation of Tilson equipment Must have knowledge of other hand and power tools of all types: power brooms, earth tampers, concrete saws, cement mixers, and various other equipment and tools

Position Requirements Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Strong work ethic Entry level skillset with less than 3 years' experience Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude Able to work in a fast-paced environment The ability to work safely, with or without supervision 0-3 years of experience operating underground construction equipment such as those describe above, required CDL A or B, tanker endorsement preferred Must be physically capable of lifting, squatting, bending, pulling and other weight bearing activities of up to 50 lbs Must pass a pre-employment physical exam, DOT medical and drug screen Must be at least 21 years of age to meet Tilson's driving eligibility requirements Equal Opportunity Employer Tilson provides a comprehensive benefits package emphasizing choice, health, wellness, and financial security.
