Aerotek Journeyman Electrician in Shakopee , Minnesota Journeyman/Master Electrician ($100K+) Job Description Seeking an experienced Electrician to perform electrical maintenance on plant utilities and processes. The role involves installing and repairing electrical systems and components according to codes and schematics. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, solving complex issues and guiding apprentice-level peers. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install, and repair electrical parts, equipment, and systems. Install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed drives. Work on electrical equipment like VFDs, contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring. Safely handle multi-phase, high and low voltage systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control networks, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and controls. Read and interpret technical procedures, schematics, manuals, and work orders. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors. Assist operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Communicate with departments, management, and employees about any issues affecting production efficiency. Stay updated on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques. Identify process improvement opportunities with a continuous improvement mindset. Anticipate parts requirements, follow purchasing procedures, and acquire parts in advance. Perform and assist in maintenance activities per national, state, and local codes. Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) for maintenance records. Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations. Essential Skills Electrical troubleshooting Blueprint reading Industrial electrical experience Journeyman Electrician license Electrical maintenance Wiring and conduit installation Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Experience with automation system maintenance Master Electrician license preferred Why Work Here?
