OFFICER - LATERAL OFFICERS NEEDED
Full-Time Open Until Filled Peace Officer starting wage dependent on years of service Lateral LEO Applicants
  • $5,000 sign on bonus: $2,000 upfront followed by $1,000 every three months for nine months.
  • Wage calculated one for one at North Ogden PD's current rates.
  • Annual leave accrual calculated one for one according to North Ogden City personnelpolicy.
  • Lateral hires will be fronted one week of vacation and one week of sick leave at day one.
Summary of Responsibilities Under general supervision of a patrol sergeant, performs general duties of police work in the enforcement of laws, maintenance of order, protection of life and property, and prevention of crime. Some assignments in the police department include patrol, investigations, school resource officer, SWAT, Narcotics Strike Force, K9, and bike patrol. Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school or equivalent graduate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a Utah driver license.
  • Good moral character as determined by a background investigation.
  • Free of any physical, emotional, or mental conditions, which might adversely affect the performance of duty as a police officer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and be computer literate. Benefits include
