DAY TO DAY AS A INPATIENT CODER - CCS PREFERRED
As a new Inpatient Coder at Harrison County Hospital, you can expect to review patient records, assign accurate codes, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines. You will work closely with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures when necessary, contributing to the overall quality of patient care. Additionally, you will participate in coding audits and stay updated on coding regulations to maintain coding accuracy. This position is a Days shift, offering you regular daytime hours to support work-life balance. Your daily tasks will involve analyzing medical charts and assigning appropriate codes, playing a critical role in the revenue cycle process. To excel as an Inpatient Coder at Harrison County Hospital, you should possess a CCS certification or have a strong desire to obtain one. Detailed knowledge of third-party reimbursement regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid, is essential for accurate coding. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with excellent proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding. Success in this role also relies on a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. While one year of coding experience in a hospital or physician setting is preferred, we welcome motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow in their coding career. Certification as a coding specialist or a related field is highly desirable to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
