Quality Control Technician Job Description:
Follow work direction as provided by leadership (e.g., Quality, Production, Operations, Engineering). Follow established procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements. Comprehend and follow test and inspection instructions, understand acceptance criteria, interpret and document results. Ensure on-going product quality by performing timely inspections and testing. This includes collecting required samples, testing them, documenting and reporting the results back to the production area and/or Supervisor. It also includes verifying and approving setups of various production stations and/or equipment throughout the day. Complete documentation associated with production builds and testing as required. General house-keeping to ensure material traceability, cleanliness, and order, and keeping tools, materials, and paperwork organized. Quality and safety are paramount in the medical device production environment. Quality Control Technicians provide a professional leadership role to promote quality in all aspects of the company. This includes following all company policies and procedures as well as personifying the quality role.
Effective Communications:
1. Prompt notification to Supervisor if quality is compromised or when any unique or new quality issue arises. 2. Timely communications with production line staff to determine when to obtain or perform QC checks. 3. Regular communications with Supervisor and Line Leads for ongoing status awareness of production activities and estimated completion times. 4. Attentiveness and availability to the production lines for effective timing of quality control activities. 5. Responsive communications with Supervisor and Quality leadership to help segregate material and initiate documentation if a non-conformance situation occurs. 6. Prompt notification to Supervisor or Engineering if an issue with any inspection or production equipment arises. 7. Prompt notification to Supervisor when completed with QC activities for potential assignment in the production area for the remaining work shift.
Quality Control Technician Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, minimum. 1 year of experience as a Quality Control Technician in medical device manufacturing Prior experience in R D environments High attention to detail Experience working in a team environment Fluent English language skills Ability to read, write and understand English Legible hand-writing Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, minimums and maximums) Basic metrology skills (specifications, tolerances, and units of measure) Basic measurement equipment skills (calipers, rulers, gages, and visual inspection microscopes) Familiar with QC sampling plans; ability to use a C=0 sampling plan chart Ability to work and move about in a standing position throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Compensation for the
