Materials and Process Engineering Job Description :
The Materials and Process Technician will support materials testing, process validation, and sample preparation within the materials and process engineering group. This position requires close collaboration with the materials lab team to conduct tests, validate processes, and ensure the quality and compliance of interconnect products and components. The technician will be responsible for managing the preparation, analysis, and documentation of test samples, as well as maintaining testing equipment and laboratory inventory. This role is based in Glendale, CA, and requires a candidate with strong communication, organizational, and technical skills.Key Responsibilities :
Prepare test samples through cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing for analysis. Assist engineers with experiments related to sample preparation, molding, and testing. Operate, validate, and maintain mechanical and analytical testing equipment. Record, document, and manage testing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications. Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage, and workstations. Apply analytical skills to support process development and improvement. Take responsibility for personal and technical development related to testing equipment and processes. Meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently, even under pressure. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the lab. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements :
High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school equivalent or Associate's degree (AA or AS) preferred. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and professional demeanor. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Good understanding of elementary arithmetic and data documentation skills. Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, including charts and tables. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ability to visually inspect documents and validate testing equipment. Ability to lift up to 20lbs and stand for long durations. Comfortable working with chemicals, precision saws, hand tools, and various testing equipment. Experience with testing equipment preferred but not required.Physical Requirements :
