Position Summary We are seeking a PC Technician Level 2 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and maintenance for IT systems, including desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, software, and cybersecurity. This role involves troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, managing user accounts, and supporting cybersecurity efforts related to email security, endpoint protection, and IT policies. The PC Technician Level 2 works closely with IT leadership and team members to ensure reliable IT services for all employees. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide advanced support for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software. Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues for both office and field employees. Manage user accounts in on-premises and cloud applications, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. Configure and support Apple devices using mobile device management tools (e.g., Mosyle, Microsoft Intune, Jamf). Configure and troubleshoot network printers, scanners, and related peripherals. Assist with software installations, updates, and patch management. Support IT needs for field employees, ensuring smooth operation of laptops, mobile devices, and office applications. Cybersecurity & Email Security Monitor and diagnose email security threats, including spam filtering, phishing prevention, and email compromise incidents. Assist in endpoint security management, including antivirus, malware protection, and access control policies. Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices for computers and mobile devices. Support IT policies for device encryption, password management, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Work with IT leadership to identify and mitigate security risks related to endpoints, applications, and email systems. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services Manage and administer Microsoft 365, including user roles, license management, and security policies. Configure and maintain Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for company-wide user authentication. Assist in managing Microsoft Exchange email settings, including spam filtering and user access policies. Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive issues. Field & Shop IT Support Provide IT support for fabrication shop operations, including iPads, scanning systems, and production software. Maintain and support Tekla PowerFab software, including licensing, user access, and database backups. Support STSX software for shop operations, including receiving, fabrication, QA/QC, and shipping. Travel to shop and field locations across California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona for on-site IT support (as needed). Inventory & Asset Management Track and maintain IT assets, including computers, mobile devices, and software licenses. Procure, deploy, and decommission IT assets as needed. Implement standardization plans to consolidate hardware (e.g., transitioning to Lenovo laptops and reducing printer ink variations). Computer Accessories & Printers Manage all computer accessories, including docking stations, external drives, and monitors. Support company printers, including large-format Canon printers (on maintenance contracts) and various smaller field printers. Monitor and manage toner and ink supplies, working toward standardization of printer models and ink types. Documentation & Reporting Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and IT support activities in the ticketing system. Maintain accurate records of hardware/software configurations, licenses, and user accounts. Generate reports on IT system performance and security trends. Collaboration & Additional Responsibilities Work closely with IT team members to resolve issues and improve service delivery. Assist in IT projects, including software upgrades, security initiatives, and system migrations. Provide backup support for the IT help desk when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment Headquarters is located in Utah, with IT support extending to California, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona. Work includes both office and field/shop environments, requiring occasional travel for on-site IT support. Work includes exposure to industrial fabrication environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or cybersecurity. Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and cybersecurity issues. Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Ability to travel to remote locations as needed for on-site IT support. Technical Skills Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems. Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure administration. Understanding of endpoint security, antivirus, and malware protection. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including email security and access control. Experience with mobile device management tools (e.g., Mosyle, Microsoft Intune, Jamf). Ability to support and maintain business-critical applications (e.g., Tekla PowerFab, STSX, Adobe Creative Cloud).
Preferred:

Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications CompTIA A+, Security+, or
Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
Microsoft Certified:
Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
