Fleet Mechanic ApprenticeLocation(s):

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for executing maintenance work on all Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) and other maintenance equipment. The primary focus is to create and adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule for the fleet and to make any necessary repairs in a timely manner.
This position will require flexibility but will be primarily a full-time day shift role and will report to the Maintenance Leader.
Keep track of and develop maintenance timelines and schedulesPerform a variety of routine tasks such as changing oil and tiresTroubleshoot breakdowns and determine repair needsContact manufacturers and vendors for recommended maintenance and spare partsKeep an organized inventory and record of spare partsAssist with plant maintenance on scheduled maintenance daysMaintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment service and repairsCoordinate with outside services to provided technical support as neededMaintain a clean and organized work areaPerform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.

The Automotive Fleet Mechanic Apprentice will perform all duties of the Fleet Mechanic role as outlined below. This person will fill in when the fleet mechanic is absent and will assume the Fleet Mechanic role when the position becomes permanently available. The class advancement of the Fleet Mechanic Apprentice will be the same as that for a Multicraft Maintenance Technician.The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for executing maintenance work on all Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) and other maintenance equipment. The primary focus is to create and adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule for the fleet and to make any necessary repairs in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
Live and adhere to the Safety Culture of Zero Accidents, and ensure plant safety needs are given top priorityAutomotive Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of all PIVs including golf carts, floor sweepers, tractor, tug trailers, cranes, lifts, etc. in addition to all maintenance equipment such as lathes, drill press, shear, etc.Keep track of and develop maintenance timelines and schedulesPerform a variety of routine tasks such as changing oil and tiresTroubleshoot breakdowns and determine repair needsContact manufacturers and vendors for recommended maintenance and spare partsKeep an organized inventory and record of spare partsAssist with plant maintenance on scheduled maintenance daysMaintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment service and repairsCoordinate with outside services to provided technical support as neededMaintain a clean and organized work areaPerform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
