Description of Work Salary Grade:
DT04 The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a User Support Technician I position in the Excise Tax Information Systems Unit who will provide primary level support to users of the division's online filing systems including the new Motor Carrier Connect (MCC) and Fuel Tracking System. This position will assist user acceptance testing and other tasks as needed. This position is critical to the Division's current FTS Upgrade, IFTA MCC projects and the agency's IT Modernization project. Deadlines must be met for testing, implementing legislative changes and other system enhancements\changes. Duties include, but are not limited to: Work under the guidance of test leads and Information Systems supervisors to execute UAT test scripts per the business requirement documents and other

methodologies Establish and maintain effective and proactive working relationships with internal and external customers Work with second level support staff to sufficiently describe non-routine problems to technical expert, and effectively communicate solution back Access computerized tax data, verify data, and correct errors • Participate in various small IT and process improvement projects and priorities within the Information Systems Unit and Excise Tax Work independently on routine /non-complex and complex tasks Generate routine and ad-hoc management reports from various databases
