, Holder, or Authorized to work in the U.S. Our Government client in Carson City NV is looking for an App Sys Analyst Programmer/ ArcGIS Python coder. SUMMARY The Sagebrush Ecosystem Program (Program) need a person to learn, manage, update, and improve the ArcGIS Python code for the Conservation Credit System (CCS) Mitigation program. The CCS has a complex series of custom tools within ArcGIS that are needed to complete complex analysis for the System. These tools may not be coded in the most efficient way, and two tools at this moment isn t functioning as they should. Our staff has limited coding ability to understand the issues and to fix the coding errors. We are hoping to have a person who can be available on a sporadic basis long term, who can learn and understand our System so we don t have to retrain over and over. We need someone initially to fix the two sets of codes that are not working efficiently. Over time, as more updates are needed, we would like this person to be a main contact for updates or coding issues as they arise. Nothing is foreseen as urgent that they would need to be on call , but as their schedule allows.RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding the functional and technical requirements for the Program. Develop, update and implement natural resource-based spatial programming that optimizes statistical efficiency and quality. Work with Project Team to prioritize programmatic and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.TASKS:
Be able to understand the complexities of the CCS for appropriately managing updates and improvements (Assume 20-40 hours of learning). Update an Arc-Py-based (ArcGIS Pro, Python 3) tool that determines the increase in ecological functionality of Greater Sage-grouse habitat with the removal of an anthropogenic disturbance (Deadline:
by June 30, 2025, assume 60-80 hours of work). Maintain and update other tools that analyze the loss or gain of ecological functionality of habitat across the state (As budget allows, intermittent hours as needed). Document questions and discoveries found during evaluation. Create, modify, and track all required documentation for assigned tasks. Provide a concise weekly status report of work completed and work remaining on assigned tasks.SKILLS REQUESTED
Required Skills:
Excellent knowledge Python 3 Coding. Experience in ArcGIS Pro. Working with and using spatial data and statistical analysis. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical ArcGIS packages for analyzing datasets. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with technical staff in a team environment and independently. Ability to complete quality work under set schedules and timelines. Excellent organizational skills and diligent record-keeping of updates and changes for managing versions. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilitiesPreferred Skills:
Experience in R. Experience in ArcBridge Code. Knowledge of natural resources and ecology.
