DESCRIPTION
BENEFITS Description Low Tension Lineman Examples of Duties Under general supervision of the Chief of Traffic Signal Unit, performs work involved in the maintenance of traffic signals and traffic signal control systems in an emergency capacity.
Such work includes:
The emergency repairs of traffic signals, traffic signal controllers, pedestrian units, control signs(illuminated and otherwise), underground and overhead cables, neon units, flood lights, transformers, and all other equipment related to these systems. Supervises a Line Helper Driver and insures that vehicles and equipment are maintained in good condition. Keeps time, work, and material records. Performs all related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must hold regular appointment as a Low Tension Lineman in the Division of Traffic Engineering for at least one year and have completed a four-year apprenticeship. A valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License is required. Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds. Must be able to climb poles. Employer City of Cleveland
