Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Insurance Agent will assist with life and health plans, and will provide additional follow-up service and support as needed according to changing insurance needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide general employee benefit client service & support to producer(s). Assist producers in creating client communications and proposals. Must be proficient in the following: Carrier agent portals (Kaiser, Health Net, Anthem, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cal Choice, Warner Pacific, United Healthcare) Delivers policy and plan documents. Follows up with clients on a periodic basis to assess financial, family, and other changes that may warrant modification of coverage. Help with changes/corrections/additions/deletions to employee benefit plan elections Deep knowledge of benefit plan coverage, structure & eligibility. Must be able to discuss plan coverage and eligibility with the subscribers. Knowledgeable in COBRA administration in order to be able to efficiently communicate with third party vendors on client's behalf. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough understanding of life insurance as an aspect of financial planning. Ability to clearly explain complex insurance policies and packages. Ability to provide comfort to beneficiaries after the death of a loved one. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software: Excel, PowerPoint & Word and Adobe PDF Software Must be bi-lingual (English & Spanish). Must hold an active Life & Health License in California Proficient with EASE employee benefits platform and Sagitta and/or AMS 360.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required ; Bachelor's degree preferred. Some sales experience, particularly in insurance, highly preferred. State insurance licensure required .
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
