JOB SUMMARY:
Person will build, troubleshoot, repair, and test packaging machinery produced in the Diversified Packaging Assembly Cell. Responsible for all production in the Cell, ensuring that assembly operations, equipment, processes and procedures to assemble products are in place to meet quality, cost, and efficiency requirements. Organize and assign the work in the Diversified Packaging Assembly Cells. Serve as a mentor by providing training and guidance to less experienced assembly operators.BASIC DUTIES, QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
- Capable of successfully performing the most complex assembly assignments with minimal supervision.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble machinery and equipment.
- Assemble control panels by installing PLCs, terminals, relays, timers, breakers, wiring, and mounts according to blue print specifications. Assemble mechanical parts of equipment.
- Connect functional wiring and circuitry between controls, sensors, equipment, and power sources
- Perform final testing of equipment ensuring proper operation, troubleshoot faults and complete repairs.
- Provides first line technical support throughout assembly operation.
- Partner with the quality function to define and solve manufacturing/process issues.
- Check parts inventory to ensure the right materials are on hand to meet the assembly plan.
- Assign work to all cell associates and plan workflow according to individual capabilities and the schedule.
- Monitor all work-in-progress and spot-check completed jobs to ensure that specifications are met.
- Responsible for on-time completion of assembly schedule.
- Ensure that production team is aware of day-to-day production output expectations.
- Manage work order closures and inventory control transactions.
- Responsible for training and cross training of all other associates working in the Diversified Packaging Cell.
- Capable of filling in at any assembly position within the team.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to determine assembly requirements.
- High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to the needs of the business.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Observes good housekeeping and safety habits.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- At least two years of direct experience and/or has demonstrated a level of performance and leadership to qualify for the position.
