The I&E Technician will collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the reliability and functionality of critical systems.
Duties and Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and electrical equipment to ensure they meet operational standards.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues to identify and resolve problems quickly, minimizing downtime.
Repairs:
Execute necessary repairs or replacements of malfunctioning electrical components, control systems, and instrumentation to restore equipment to proper working condition.
Instrument Calibration:
Calibrate and configure various instruments, including pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, and control valves, to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, and update maintenance logs and databases as required.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is performed safely and that all equipment meets safety standards.
Emergency Response:
Act promptly during emergency situations to mitigate risks and restore equipment functionality.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support new installations, upgrades, and modifications to instrumentation and electrical systems.
Training:
Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and attend training sessions to enhance skills and stay current with emerging technologies.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance activities. Requirements and Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or technical certification in electrical or instrumentation technology is preferred. Proven experience as an I&E Technician or a related role in an industrial setting is typically required. The number of years of experience may vary depending on the specific position. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and various instrumentation devices. Familiarity with electrical schematics and diagrams is essential. Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, engineers, and management, as well as to maintain accurate records and documentation. Ability to analyze data, diagnose issues, and develop effective solutions to ensure the reliability and efficiency of instrumentation and electrical systems. Willingness to collaborate within a team and provide technical support as needed. Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions. Relevant certifications in electrical or instrumentation technology, such as ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), are a plus. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
