JOB SUMMARY
Coordinate the collection of water samples required to ensure high quality drinking water is delivered to our customers. Transport water samples to the RWA central laboratory or to sub-contracting laboratories for analytical testing. Assist the Water Quality Team Lead with the resolution of customer water quality complaints through site visits and subsequent investigation.Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily calibration and quality control/assurance tasks on field instrumentation and keep this data on a field calibration and quality control worksheet. 2. Collect physical, chemical and bacteriological water samples from a variety of collection sites in all weather conditions for regulatory compliance, water quality monitoring or research needs. 3. Transport water samples collected by other utilities to the RWA central laboratory for analytical testing. 4. Transport water samples to sub-contracting laboratories as necessary. 5. Perform specified analytical tests in the field following all QC/QA requirements in accordance with established written standard operating procedures (SOPs). 6. Ensure accurate data entry into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) computer. 7. Assist in the on-site investigation and resolution of water quality complaints from residential, commercial and industrial customers in conjunction with various RWA departments as necessary. . 8. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the water quality monitoring programs. 9. Other duties as necessary to accomplish the mission, vision and values of our organization.QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or its equivalent.Experience/Skills/Abilities:
Able to repair and maintain sampling devices and field monitoring equipment Able to operate laboratory and field instruments. Completion of in-house and contracted training topics including cross connection control Computer literate in areas of Excel and ability to become proficient in LIMS Possess excellent skills in the areas of time management, self-organization, accountability/responsibility Why Join the RWA?
