Mortgage Loan Officer North Bay Credit Union 397 Aviation Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403 JOB DESCRIPTION-Mortgage Loan Officer-Hybrid Remote-MUST live in Sonoma County Reports to:

Exempt Purpose The purpose of the Mortgage Lending Officer is to help NBCU expand our economic impact serving low to moderate income home buyers in the North Bay region. The MLO is expected to focus on business development activities which likely will take the employee outside of the office and/or could occur outside of regular business hours, which may necessitate a flexible work schedule. This role will cover the entire North Bay area, including Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and Marin counties.Essential Responsibilities:
Spend at least 50% of your time performing outside sales activities to build a robust pipeline of mortgage loans. Develop and maintain a strong network of referral sources, including realtors, brokers, builders, and business partners. • Originate applications for real estate and manufactured home loans. • Gather and analyze financial information on applicants for the purpose of determining qualifying status for mortgage and small business loans. Provide members with applications and rate quotes. Collate, review, and verify loan documents for accuracy. Meet with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain additional loan information and documentation. Ensure that members are promptly and professionally served. Work with borrowers to structure loan transactions, conduct due diligence and financial analyses, draft credit memoranda, and present loan recommendations to the NBCU Loan Committee. Achieve personal annual loan production goals of at least $6,000,000. Use diverse communication strategies, referral relationships with both internal and external partners and existing business relationships to cultivate new business from existing members and grow market share through the acquisition of new member relationships. Initiate calls independently to develop new business with prospects that have moderate and complex financial needs. Consistently meet established calling and referral targets. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, products, and technology to broaden new business opportunities. Provide support in ensuring loan files are up to date and compliant. Provides support in ensuring the quality of documentation in loan files. Serve as the primary "face" of NBCU in the community, including appropriate involvement with community organizations. Perform other duties as assigned.Credentials, Experience and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent Bilingual Spanish/English required Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience. Proven track record of delivering results. Strong cultural competency and a preference for working in organizations that value diversity, teamwork, and collaboration. Knowledge of fair lending regulations, including TILA, ECOA, and RESPA, as well as state real estate and finance laws. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations. Capacity to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects, prioritize a challenging workload, and be solution oriented. Must have or be able to qualify for licensing under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).Job Type:
