Job Description
Supplemental Information Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 80 pounds.Certifications:
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in Automobile or Medium/Heavy Truck are preferred.Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical systems, multiplexing systems, air systems, chassis and suspension, air conditioning and heating systems, gasoline and diesel engines, and transmissions.Computer Skills:
Must be proficient with computers and capable of using fleet management and work order-based software programs and related tools.Diagnostic Experience:
Preferred experience with diagnostic software for Mack, International, Cummins, and Ford. Ability to diagnose, locate, define, adjust, and repair major vehicle and equipment defects within industry-standard time limits.Communication and Problem-Solving:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to make appropriate decisions and recommendations. Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and changing priorities.Work Locations:
May be required to work at various Fleet Services locations within Solid Waste.Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, with rotational Saturdays. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Flexibility to work varied hours in emergency situations is required.
