Madison, SD 57042 Temporary Telecommunications Assistant (500 Hour) Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! We are seeking a temporary Telecommunications Assistant to join our team. In this collaborative environment, you'll have the chance to learn from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience working with radio equipment, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Network Terminal Units (NTU), and standby power systems. This position is eligible to work up to 500 hours. What You'll Accomplish Gain knowledge and assist in providing support for the installation and maintenance of the microwave radio, MPLS and fiber optic systems. Document all maintenance activities and repairs in a clear and organized manner. Help monitor the stock and non-stock inventory of needed materials and spare parts. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to our safety culture. Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have? A high school degree or equivalent Currently pursuing a certificate, diploma or associate degree in electronics, SCADA, or digital communications A valid driver's license. Experience with Microsoft Office products and computer technology Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a team environment Position Details Hourly pay rate is $22.00 - $27.00, depending on qualifications Paid work-related travel expenses PPE gear provided Summer work schedule is a 4/10 work week with 10-hour days M-Th and every Friday off Desired start date is April or May, but will depend on candidate availability Our Cooperative Community At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area.
