Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Engineering Associate I is responsible for managing and preparing critical engineering documentation for all company products. This position plays a key role in providing accurate and timely engineering data, maintaining control systems, and supporting the development of manufacturing improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Key Responsibilities:
Provide departments with essential engineering documents, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing drawings, specification sheets, part information, and engineering change orders. Assign and manage part numbering systems for new and revised items in the system. Coordinate the implementation of engineering changes across departments. Provide product structure information and collaborate with purchasing for material procurement. Prepare estimates and prototypes, assisting in their procurement and development. Verify accuracy of drawings and correct errors as necessary. Assist in developing and recommending manufacturing methods for cost reduction and product standardization. Perform engineering and sales product research as assigned. Set up and operate 3D printers, order supplies, and collaborate on prototype and production of 3D printed parts. Contact vendors for product development and cost reduction opportunities, sharing recommendations with Engineering and Purchasing. Cross-train on various department tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Associate's degree in a technical or mechanical field and at least one (1) year of experience required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with SolidWorks/CAD and 3D printing preferred. SAP experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access, required.Special Requirements:
Mechatronics or fluid power certification (or willingness to obtain) desired.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry required. Ability to read blueprints from manual and CAD documents required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software required. Ability to travel, including overnight stays, occasionally required.Additional Desired Characteristics:
