Application Architect
Note:
Candidates be Wisconsin residents in the Madison (or surrounding communities) area or willing to relocate to Wisconsin at their own expense prior to starting the role. This position will be working mostly remote (from within the state of Wisconsin) but the selected hire could be called onsite in Madison as needed.
Project Description:
This is a technical leadership position needed to drive the development and support of the
IRIS 2.0
modernization project, a full replacement of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's case management system. Candidates will play an integral role on self directed project teams working on this high priority development project. Project work will include: application architecture design and development, integration with 3rd party internal and external systems, database technology migration from Oracle to Azure SQL and data conversion, building and maintaing cloud computing environments, and analysis of legacy code and logical requirements. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integrations, web development, and highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP). Top Required Skills & Years of Experience:
5+ years' experience as the lead architect in modernization or re-write from a legacy system to a modern replacement, including modernization of technology, as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor 2+ years' experience as a .NET expert, with extensive experience using ASP.NET Core v6-8 2+ years' experience in Azure SQL cloud database solution 2+ years' experience with GitHub distributed version control and using GitHub actions to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience working in an Agile software development environment Experience using Oracle database technology, Control-M batch jobs Experience using LinQ or Entity Framework Previous experience providing this government service is a plus, and experience with clients environments will be especially valuable.
Additional Details:
Client is currently allowing remote work for this position from the greater Madison area, including local, surrounding communities. The contractor will be required to be available online, be present to meet all workload requirements, and must be available to attend all scheduled meetings during the client s standard working hours of 7:45 am - 4:30 pm Central Time. The selected contractor MUST be available to work onsite at Madison, WI location at client's request, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking expenses. Client can make changes or modifications to this arrangement with a reasonable advance notice.
