Pay Range:
$21.61 - $34.04 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush's anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
Supervises the technical operations of the phlebotomy area, including resource and personnel management. Performs venous blood samples and various tests. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma 3-5years relevant experience in a
Hospital Laboratory Preferred Job Qualifications:
Phlebotomy certificate
Physical Demands:
Able to work in past pace, often stressful, computerized environment. Able to lift 15 lbs. and perform repetitive motions. Works in laboratory with exposure to potentially infectious materials.
Competencies:
Knowledge of Phlebotomy practices in order to supervise in a Laboratory area competently.
Responsibilities:
Supervises all phlebotomy activities, inpatient and outpatient. Performs venipunctures with no assistance. Ensures that equipment is maintained. Demonstrates ability to manage workflow, be a technical resource person, and maintain technical proficiency. Maintains Policy and Procedure Manuals. Updates as needed. Directs or performs inventory of necessary supplies and ensures timely preparation of purchase requisitions. Enforces compliance with all policies, standard operating procedures, and regulations related to routine operations. Directs training of new employees such that performance levels meet expectations. Appraises employee competency and performance and conducts performance reviews. Reviews computer generated reports at the appropriate times. Accepts special projects and completes them as assigned.
