The Quality Control Receiving Technician is a member of the Quality Control (QC) team, responsible for the inspection, sampling, and analysis of all incoming raw and packaging materials, ensuring that they are in conformance with established specifications and standards. The QC Receiving Technician regularly utilizes inspection and analytical skills, paying close attention to detail, and collaborates with a cross functional team of professionals including supply chain, quality laboratory, and other quality staff to ensure the highest quality levels of all received materials. Estimated starting annual base salary is $30.00/hour less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure all incoming raw materials and packaging materials are inspected and in conformance with established specifications and standards. Perform product identification testing per established procedures for all incoming raw material. Ensure all incoming materials are sampled per established procedures. Use internal systems (i.e. AMAPS, SharePoint, Master Control) to hold or release incoming materials and labels. Work with cross functional teams including quality laboratory, supply chain, and other quality staff to investigate nonconforming raw material. Independently determine raw material disposition for raw materials based on established procedures. Document all work in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. 3 years' technical Quality Control experience in food or dietary supplement industry. 3 years' receiving experience including raw material and labels. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs) : Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint. Advanced understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Demonstrated competency with handling and maintaining analytical equipment. Strong training, troubleshooting, advising, and decision-making skills. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Preferred Qualifications Degree or professional certification in a relevant field. Experience working with cross-functional teams. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
