As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and organized Electrical Journeyman to join our team! Journeyman electricians are responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. They work with blueprints to figure out how the systems are supposed to work. Then, they use that information to troubleshoot electrical problems and come up with solutions for them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots electrical issues Inspects circuit breakers and other electrical components Conducts general electrical maintenance Reads and interprets blueprints and technical diagrams Labels system components Works standard computations relating to electrical load requirements of wiring Drive yourself to our job sites and assess their electrical systems Use a variety of tools and techniques to repair and maintain electrical systems Use your knowledge to determine the best way to install new electrical systems Answer any questions that our customers may have about their electrical systems and components Ensure that you follow all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines while you work
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of low and medium voltage systems, equipment, substations, and primary power distribution. Knowledge of National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E, OSHA 10-30, and the National Electrical Safety Code. Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test medium and low voltage electrical circuits and equipment. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers for both primary and secondary systems. Ability to lead and/or train staff. Ability to read both commercial and industrial electrical blueprints and apply NEC, NFPA-70A, NESC, and
OSHA 10-30
through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to install and maintain motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as appropriate to the position. Ability to isolate and repair defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred Valid electrician license in good standing 5+ years of experience working as an electrical technician Highly observant and analytical Detail-oriented Proficient with hand tools Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical skills Physically able to lift 35 lbs Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment Able to read blueprints and technical drawings Familiar with code requirements and company safety regulations
